(ah-LEE-ee): The ali'i are the rulers of the Menehune. Fair and wise rulers, the ali'i are usually followed without question by the other callings. The ali'i come by this unquestioned respect by maintaining an equal respect for their people and their individual places and roles. The ali'i are supernaturally beautiful and awe inspiring, exactly as the sidhe are. They are also able to store large amounts of mana (Glamour) in themselves for the use of their people. This is an important function of the ali'i, since the Menehune do not have freeholds. They are more vulnerable to Banality than the other Menehune, and the mana that they store can be destroyed by others violating certain personal taboos regarding the ali'i. Stepping in the ali'i's shadow is taboo, and will destroy some of the stored mana, so is failing to bow before an ali'i. In their fae miens, ali'i look like exceptionally beautiful native Hawaiians.
