Freehold
Freehold is a gathering place, and usually habitation, of a group of Kithain.
What Makes a Freehold
A Freehold is a piece of land in the real world, occupied or held by a Kithain Lord, Lady, or other clearly fae owner, always aware of the nature of the space. Freeholds are always centered around a building, and protected from non-Kithain in some manner (usually using the Veiled Eyes Cantrip).
Besides ownership of the place, the Freehold requires that the space contains, small or large, a font of glamour, most commonly in the form of a Balefire. Balefires are carefully tended, magical fires that spew glamour into reality. Sleeping in the light of said fire will aid the restoration of glamour to a Kithain.
Other than that, almost anything goes.
What Distinguishes a Freehold from Other Spaces
Freeholds have Balefire, unlike Glades, which have some other elemental source of glamour to sustain them.
Freeholds usually have doorways or direct connections to the Dreaming, unlike Caerns, Nodes, or other magically occupied spaces, which may have doorways to the Umbra but not to those particular parts of the Dreaming. Likewise, many freeholds have access to a Trod, or the Silver Path, a road to travel through the Dreaming.
Freeholds are actively claimed by a changeling group for Kithain use, compared to those claimed by Mages, the Garou or other shifting breeds, Vampire covens, etc.
On a freehold, Faerie Time is observed (characters do not age during thier time staying on a freehold). Likewise, Faerie Space is usually in effect indoors (an indoor space is usually larger than it appears from the outside) and Chimerical Reality is much more easily seen (even by non-Kithain).
