House Melusine

House Melusine: The house of scholars, House Melusine are the merfolk that have the most contact with the surface world. This is due to the members of this house being bound more than often with creatures that require to breath air. Unlike the rest of the Merfolk, Melusine need to surface every six hours to breath, least they drown. Whales, porpoises, otters, sea snakes, turtles and even some diving birds have been among Melusines' ranks. This of course causes a slight enmity with their water breathing kin. However, their knowledge of the surface world and the "dirt-walkers" is invaluable to the Merfolks' cause for survival.
